Why doesn't Download This Video work in Chrome?
RealPlayer 16 and Chrome 25 or higher: Follow the steps below.
1. Open a Google Chrome browser window. 2. Click the icon of three short lines in the top right and select Tools. 3. Select Extensions. 4. Check the "Enable" box next to RealDownloader. 5. If you previously disabled Pepper Flash, you will need to enable it for Download This Video to work with RealPlayer 16. See the instructions below for RealPlayer 15, but click Enable (instead of Disable). 6. Close and reopen Google Chrome. 7. Download the latest version of Flash by going to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html and clicking "Get the latest version." 8. When you have finished installing Flash, restart your computer.
RealPlayer 15: RealPlayer 15 is not compatible with Google Chrome version 25. If you are on an older version of Chrome, you can resolve the problem by following the steps below; otherwise, you can upgrade to RealPlayer 16.
First: Disable Pepper Flash.
1. Open a Google Chrome browser window. 2. In the address bar, enter chrome://plugins/ 3. Click the Details link in the top right corner.
4. The top entry should show three versions of Flash. Click Disable for the first one (you should see the Location listed as something like C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\21.0.1180.89\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll). NOTE: You may see different numbers in the file name; as long as the end of the file name is "pepflashplayer.dll" then that is the version you want to disable. 5. Close and restart Chrome. Go to chrome://plugins/ again to verify that the pepflashpalyer.dll file was successfully disabled; some customers have found that they need to take this step twice before it "sticks".
You should now see the Download This Video button appear when watching videos. If nothing happens when you click on the button, proceed to the second step.
Second: Verify that the Downloader plugin is enabled in Chrome.
1. Click the icon of three short lines in the top right and select Tools. (In older versions of Chrome, this is a wrench icon.) 2. Select Extensions. 3. Locate the RealPlayer HTML5Video Downloader Extension.* 4. If the box next to "Enabled" is checked, that means the extension is currently enabled. 5. If the box is not checked, click to check it, then close and reopen the browser.
*If you don't see the plugin listed, try closing and re-opening the browser. If you still don't see the plugin, you will need to uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome.
