Realplayer wont complete video downloads

Hi it always happen when I tried to download a video from YouTube!

Started to happens before when their video files were MP4 and when I converted into FLV (Flash), when I played in Real Player only showed the video but no audio.

Also for the WORSE, LATELY in YouTube when I tried to download a video, it shows that the file downloaded was a .DASH File...! What in a hell is that??!! And it doesn't work either... always got the "incomplete video error"

When I go to other sites that uses Flash Video, I have no problem! Must of the problem is in you tube and other web sites!!

Please, let me know about this problem of downloading from YouTube, as I used a lot for my research in my proyects!!

BY THE WAY! It is possible to download a video from Silverlight using Real Player???

Thanks and regards, I will be waiting for your answer to the problem and the SOLUTION...!

dad_gier,

I am sorry we are experiencing some technical difficulties in downloading videos. Our support team is working on high priority to resolve it at the earliest.

Try to download alternate videos (a few to test if YouTube is doing something). After a few attempts, the video downloads completely, so keep trying.

OK Real Player, what the hell is going on now!! First of all everytime  I try to download a video off of Youtube, an error message comes up just when it is almost finishing saying "Real Player Has Stopped Working. Incomplete download. Refresh the page".  So I start over and the same thing happens again! Also the download process is much slower than it was when I had it installed about 3 years ago! What's going on?!!!

How frustrating! Sorry you are unable to download videos.

Our technical team is aware of this issue and currently working on a fix. This issue will be resolved as early as possible. When we have an update on the status of this issue, we will let you know.

In the meantime, while downloading videos if it shows ''Download Incomplete. Refresh the page and try again'' redownload the same video again to download it properly (make sure you don't click Clear List in RealDownloader)

My god I thought I was the only one and that I had done somthing to my computer Im getting the same message and trying to download from explorer and firefox I have uninstalled both numerously and tried different versions and also the same with real player because it was all fine before I upgraded to plus which really sux as I paid money. Ive made sure to check the extensions or manage add ons in explorer and fire fox because I had aproblem with the download button but when I over came that I downloaded a few videos which then came up as double ups in my library but actually werent they had over layed othe video clips titles and so when I deleted what I thought were the double ups I got rid of a heap of my favourites and havent been able to get any back onto the computer. I think that either the software is problem matic or being blocked for some reason? howerver im in direstraights and am considering going back to using other harder to use more reliable software like audio video helper im just getting sick of al the problems

mark_foreman,

How frustrating! I understand you are unable to download videos. As mentioned earlier, our technical team is aware of this issue and currently working on a fix.

When you play or save files in RealPlayer, RealPlayer stores all information about them in its database and creates a list of those files in its Library view. When you delete files from RealPlayer Library it won't get deleted from your hard drive (unless you select the option ''Also delete from hard drive'').

To find and re-import your songs:

1. Open RealPlayer.
2. Select File from the menu.
3. Click Scan Disk For Media.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to import the clips to RealPlayer.

Sorry,

Download This Video has limited compatibility with IE 11 (the default browser for Windows 8.1) and Google Chrome 31. Our Technical Team is aware of this issue and the fix will be available for RealPlayer 16 worldwide in early 2014.

You will be notified through this thread when we have an update on the status of this issue.

You all know now that thousands of people are going through this same problem and with all the technical staff you have after three full months you still can't get it resolved.  Why is it then you have no problem in promoting us to upgrade from 14 to 15 to 16, always at an additional cost.  And yet, it appears the higher the upgrade the poorer the performance.  I'm running Windows 7, Vista, XP, and all do the same then.  I find it quite ironic it did not happen in the older additions.  So the videos won't complete their loading and just as I started typing this note I got a menu item I very commonly receive "RealPlayer has quit working"  And that kills the downloads, conversions, accelerations (which for some reason are very erratic and seems to pick their own good time when to engage.

Check Answer

east_texas_emus: On your Windows 7 PC you can update--at no charge--to the new RealPlayer Cloud, which should fix the download problems for all browsers except Chrome 32 (and we expect to release a fix for that next week). When Download This Video stops working, it is typically due to changes by either the video site or the browser, which we then need to work to accommodate in our product. (Try downloading from Vimeo, for example.)

marian.evans: I apologize that we did not update this forum thread earlier, but if you download the latest version of RealPlayer Cloud on your Windows 8.1 laptop, this should resolve your video download issues as well.

For several months now, I have been unable to download ANY .flv files from YouTube. MP4s are downloading just fine, but .flv files just won't do it. I keep getting the error message - "Unable to download" - whenever I attempt to do so. What is going on?!? This is VERY FRUSTRATING. BTW, I'm currently running RealPlayer Version 16.0.3.51 on a Dell Inspiron 660 running Windows 8.1. Hope this helps.

Many websites have started using Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), which is great for streaming high-quality media over the Internet without stalls or buffer issues occurring. While you can still download these videos from sites like YouTube as a MP4 file, but not as .FLV format.

RealNetworks released RealPlayer Cloud in English worldwide for Windows 7 and higher operating systems. This latest version will fix the "download incomplete" issue with YouTube and supports Chrome 32 and Internet Explorer 11. Please go to www.real.com and download the free version RealPlayer Cloud.

You will also need to make sure that the RealDownloader extension is enabled in your browsers. To do so, follow this link:

I too have a RealPlayer Downloader problem, but in my case (when I don't get the 'download incomplete, try again' message)  the downloader does actually download but will not then load the clips into my RealPlayer Library. When a download completes and I click the View Library button the Library opens but all it shows is a 'there are no downloads in the library' message. I know it is downloading as it sends the downloads to a RealPlayer downloads folder in My Videos, but no matter how I try I cannot send or copy the downloads into the RealPlayer library.  This problem has been going on now for over 6 weeks, ever since I misguidedly 'upgraded' to Cloud.  Since then I have reverted to RealPlayer 16Plus and have had two RealPlayer Support guided attempts to solve the problem but with no success.  My operating system is Windows7 and I experience the problem on both IE11 and Firefox.

Any further information you can come up with to get my downloader back to proper working order would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

One solution to fix this is to completely remove the existing software, then reinstall RealPlayer Cloud.

Try uninstalling the existing software using the instructions from this link:

https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23994572

Please delete the folders specified in this link.

You will download and install the free version of RealPlayer onto your machine. You will then need to sign in to your premium account to unlock the Plus features.

First, download the free version from http://www.real.com (depending on your operating system, the button may say Download the Free RealPlayer or Get RealPlayer Cloud Free).

Next, sign in to access the premium features. To do so, follow this link:

https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23585297

At this point the logo in the upper left corner should indicate RealPlayer Plus and the premium features should be available.

Fianlly, enable the download plug-ins in your browsers by following this link:

https://realnetworks.zendesk.com/entries/23689856

If this doesn't help, let us know.
